What MENA Blockchain Week 2026 Built — and Why It Matters
In May 2026, Dubai hosted something that had never existed before in the region: a fully decentralized, city-wide blockchain initiative where the city itself was the venue.
MENA Blockchain Week 2026 (MENABCW) ran from 14 to 24 May, across eight days — a private Day 0 summit on 14 May followed by seven themed days of public programming from 18 to 24 May. The initiative drew 40+ events, 5,000+ attendees, and 100+ speakers from 1,000+ companies, generating 10M+ in total reach at 99% positive sentiment.
That reach was not incidental. It was earned. Coverage came from the Dubai Media Office, WAM, Zawya, Arabian Business, Al Bayan, Emarat Al Youm, Arabian Post, and more than 15 publications in total. Amplification came from Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, the Dubai Blockchain Center, VARA, DMCC Crypto Center, Binance, Polygon, and a coalition of 30+ partners. The audience itself was 57% senior decision-makers — founders, C-level executives, and director-and-above — spanning 40+ nationalities with online interest registered from 90+ countries.
MENA Blockchain Week was organized and founded by SkyNet X Solutions (SNXS) and powered by Hadron Founders Club as founding partner. It operated under an official Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Business Events (DBE), the official convention bureau of Dubai under the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), formally aligned with Dubai's Economic Agenda, D33.
This was not a conference. It was infrastructure — a model that distributed authority, programming, and value across the entire city's ecosystem.
Why AI Was Always Part of the Blueprint
AI did not arrive late to MENA Blockchain Week. It was woven into the week from Day 1.
Day 2 of the initiative — held on 19 May at Grand Millennium Dubai in Business Bay — was dedicated entirely to the intersection of AI and blockchain, bringing together builders, technologists, and enterprise leaders to examine accountability, automation, and compute infrastructure in financial operations. Day 6 on 23 May hosted a full creators and builders day featuring Google Developer Group (GDG) sessions on building with AI. Day 7 on 24 May continued that momentum with GDG Build with AI Day 2, alongside sessions featuring Genspark AI.
The presence of AI across multiple themed days was intentional. MENA Blockchain Week's founders understood early on that blockchain and AI are not parallel tracks — they are converging infrastructure. The organizations that move first in one will shape both. The community that formed around MENA Blockchain Week increasingly wanted a dedicated space for AI: its strategy, its policy implications, its enterprise adoption, and its MENA-specific opportunity.
That recognition had a name, stated publicly in the event's own about section: MENA AI Week.
How MENA AI Week Was Born From the Blockchain Ecosystem
MENA Blockchain Week's official event description describes it as built to scale "into new verticals (MENA AI Week)." That phrasing is significant. MENA AI Week is not a spin-off conceived after the fact. It was named and envisioned as part of the original design — a deliberate next chapter, not an afterthought.
The logic is straightforward. MENA Blockchain Week demonstrated that Dubai's ecosystem could support a city-wide, multi-day, multi-venue initiative at scale. It proved that the appetite existed — among founders, institutions, regulators, and enterprise leaders — for programming that goes deeper than panels, that connects communities across sectors, and that generates measurable, high-quality reach for participants and partners. It proved that a decentralized model, where the city is the venue, works in the Gulf.
MENA AI Week inherits that proof of concept. It does not need to build the case for why Dubai is the right city, why the decentralized format works, or why the region's ecosystem is ready. MENA Blockchain Week already answered those questions.

A proven community. The 5,000+ attendees, 522 influencers and media voices, and 30+ partner organizations that gathered around MENA Blockchain Week represent a network that is already warm. Many of them are the same builders, founders, and enterprise leaders
who are now building with AI. MENA AI Week does not start from zero — it starts from trust.
A decentralized architecture that scales. The model MENA Blockchain Week introduced — themed days, distributed venues, community co-hosts — is designed to expand.
